The Upstarts - a team formed by Selene of the Hellfire Club to help her takeover the Inner Circle. Selene recruited The Gamesmaster, a telepath so powerful he constantly hears the thoughts of everyone on Earth, to create a contest to see who would gain the most points from killing mutants, with the prize being immortality plus control over the resources of the other rich and powerful contestants. The Upstarts consisted of Trevor Fitzroy [a personal favorite of mine in the whole Marvel universe], Shinobi Shaw, Fabian Cortez, Sienna Blaze, Graydon Creed and the Fenris twins. They were featured as bosses in the Game Gear videogame “X-Men - The Gamesmaster’s Legacy” - whose story you wouldn’t know of without owning the manual or reading an online FAQ, as there are no visuals, text or introduction within the game that states what you are supposed to do and why. The plot is The Gamesmaster has the cure for the Legacy Virus, which the X-Men go after but end up being kidnapped by The Upstarts, except for Storm and Cyclops who must rescue their friends and then also defeat Apocalypse, Sinister and Strife. The other playable characters are Rogue, Wolverine, Gambit, Jean Grey, Bishop and Cable. (Taken with Instagram)
